Join us for the 2nd Annual Taste of Latin America on the Shoreline! What is your favorite Latin American dish? We will have a celebrity chef judging the dishes, and cash prizes for the top three winners! There will also be a "People's Choice" award with a special prize. The combination of a celebrity chef judging panel and a People's Choice award is a smart way to balance expert opinion with community engagement. It makes me wonder how organizers plan for the wide range of regional styles within Latin American cuisine, since dishes from different countries can be so distinct. Do competitors receive any guidance on categories, or is the field intentionally open to encourage variety? Either way, the mix of cash prizes and audience voting sounds like it would draw a lively crowd.
